Applebee's

When my family and I moved back to Selah 4 years ago I started working at the Applebees in Union Gap. Never did I think I was going to meet friends that would change my life forever. When they heard about Ella, they wanted to do something that would help her with medical bills and things that she would need to start her on the path of life. They planned an all you can pancake breakfast fundraiser. Its on Saturday May 22nd at 8am-10am at Applebees in Union Gap. The tickets are $7 and can be purchaced before the breakfast or at the door the day of. Thank you all for your love and support. We've been blessed in so many ways.

Rand and Ryan

This is a picture of the boys going into see Ella for the first time. Rand loved it. He thought that it was so cool to see his little sister and he wasn't afraid of any of the stuff that they have Ella hooked to. One time he sat there holding her hand for about 30 minutes. He hardly moved. It was so cute. But Ryan was scared once we got in there. It takes about 10 minutes to scrub them down and dress them in all that stuff and he saw Ella for less them a minute and wanted to go. That's ok, baby steps. It scares me to see her like that too.

May 7 update

YaY! Ella's finally off the vent. Its been about 2 weeks since she's been off. They had to start her on a ten day dose of steriods becasuse she was maxed out on her oxygen when she was on the vent. When they started the steriods it took a couple of days to start working. So when they started working she improved so fast it was amazing. She went from being on the highest settings, with high oxygen to low oxygen and off the vent. After the ten days of steriods were up we waited to see if she would be able to stay off the vent. Little by little her cpap setting would go up, she got up to 60% oxygen on her cpap and that's the highest they would go on that so they started her on a mini round of the steriods again. This last saturday is when they started the small round. The small round only lasts for 3 days. Her last dose was tuesday. So far that last dose really did the trick. She's been able to stay off the high setting on her cpap. She's been hanging at around 30-35% oxygen and breathing all on her own. She's come such a long way from where she was at just 2 weeks ago.
They started dressing her. She's still so small and they still need to check her chest and stomache so they just have a little shirt on her. But she's still wearing clothes! She weighs as of today 2lbs 9oz. When I hold her I finally notice that she has some weight to her where as before it just felt like I was holding a pile of blankets.
Its so amazing that for as small as she is, she still knows her mommy and daddy. Everytime we talk to her she smiles. Its so cute and she does it so fast that I can never get a picture. But were working on it.
I'm just so greatful to have this little girl in my life. Its amazing that something so small can bring so much joy into our lives. I'm so greatful that's she's finally stableizing out and giving her body time to heal and grow. We love her so much.
